Well Prepared – Together for Our Horses
What do our horses need during a prolonged power outage, a disruption to the water supply, severe weather, or interrupted feed and supply routes?
Situations like these can temporarily affect automatic waterers, pumps, electric fencing, stable lighting, communication, feed deliveries and access to the yard. A few questions addressed in advance can make a real difference and help us stay calm, organised and capable of caring for our horses when normal routines are disrupted.
That’s why I’ve put together a personal preparedness letter and a practical emergency checklist for you – covering water and feed supplies, safe accommodation, communication, veterinary needs and mutual support at the stable.
Both are available free of charge. Go through the checklist together with your stable operator, discuss responsibilities in advance, and feel free to share it with other horse owners.

For me, that horse is Ritchie. My forever horse.
He was never just a horse. He became my inspiration, my teacher, and the beginning of a journey I never could have imagined.
What started with love, questions, and the determination to understand more eventually grew into something much bigger: Hoofphysics.
Behind every idea, every lesson learned, and every step forward, there is a story worth telling.
And mine begins with him.
